I sat in front on my plate of “food” thinking about what the judge said all that time ago “lifetime sentence” those words hit me like a train, but I didn’t do it, I couldn’t do it, but all signs pointed towards me.
“The man who framed me is going to pay” I groaned under my breath everyone else in the prison cafeteria burst into laughter, “that’s what everyone says, but it never seems to happen!” One of the inmates said. I get up and head to my cell, to do what I’ve been doing every day for the past month, saw. I grab the file I hid in my cell and saw at the iron windows, it’s felt like an eternity every day the same thing search, saw, cover repeat. I’ve almost cut through all the bars using a mixture of anything I can get my hands on to make something that looks identical to iron, but as soft as plastic. I fill the gaps I’ve cut with the files with this mixture everyday, but one day the last bar breaks lose, that day was the day is the day but then I here screaming and then more screaming then in no time at all my plan falls apart. Lockdown, all cells searched the alarms go off I jump and make the worst mistake in my life, the bar slips I watch as it falls down the 5 story fall and listen to the clank as it slams on the ground.
I Panic, I haven’t planned to do this now i don’t have anyway to get down, safely, I hear footsteps running up to my cell I smash the bars easily Thanks to the mixture and I jump. Pushing myself off the window hopefully landing in the water, hoping this isn’t the end. I hit the water get to shore and RUN ignoring the incredible pain in my leg abandoning everything I knew and loved, not knowing to this day if it was worth it, but one thing I do know is, the man who framed me will pay.
